So, we have two confirms, two pending (EDIT: both pendings have now CONFIRMED!!), and one who cannot work for deferred pay at this time (I really, really wish we could pay our actors... and ideally we would be, but... let's see what sort of fundraising we can pull together). That leaves us in an interesting spot. More on that later. But still, 4 out of 5 first-choices is really, really great for such talented actors (who are working for deferred pay, nonetheless).
Anyhow, the cast of "Lived Here" will be (drumroll please):
In other news, we got some really cool scripts made, all with red covers (just like Joseph's manuscript in the first narrative, qué meta). But for now, back to finals... Oy.

Sleep is Unproductive
After another looong (3-hour) casting meeting, we finally have our top picks for the five leads – Eve, Nirav, Jason, Eddie, and Joseph. We will be calling them soon, and I really hope they agree to do the film. They were all extremely talented, and compatibility being a huge issue, we also chose them in pairs (save the character of Joseph). More on that when it happens, as well as the securing of locations with K. Long.
Also, speaking of extremely talented, G. Needlman just sent me these storyboard renderings:

Tomorrow is my last film workshop/seminar for the semester. Will see if any last suggestions come from that. Otherwise, things need to happen fast – I leave for Miami in a week, and then I'll be in México for the better part of a month. Unfortunately, I'll likely be out of touch (or spend most of my time coordinating stuff at internet cafés, which is probably closer to the truth).
Feliz Janukah!

Things to come:
Casting in NYC actually went pretty smoothly. Had a great time, even considering the long day (music auditions from 1-2, the rest from 2-9). Certified rock stars: L. O'Connor, J. Carballo, N. Rosenbaum, and M. Silverstein. Will post more after the casting meeting on Wednesday. Until then, I'm getting my latest short – "Lipstick," the final project for my postwar avant-garde seminar – ready for release tomorrow.
Before I sign out, our first storyboard mock-up (kudos to G. Needlman for this)! This is a moment from the film's climax – Joseph has a heart attack (and drops a phone), Nirav gets shot, and Jason slams the door in Eddie's face (oh, quarreling lovers).

Crash-bang-slam!
